Bria 4

If you’re just transitioning to VoIP calling, then you should check out the X-Lite softphone.  This softphone is also manufactured by Counterpath, the makers of the Bria softphone.  Although the X-Lite only holds one SIP account, it offers some of the most popular features that come with the Bria softphone, including voice and video calls, instant messaging, and presence.

This softphone is completely free and because so, there are running ads,  which may distract from the visual appeal of the UI. But for new VoIP users, it’s a great way to get to learn the ins and outs of soft phones. Unlike the fully loaded Bria, X-Lite is not available for mobile devices.

ZoiPer

The user interface is very basic and easy to navigate. Of course, the Telephone App is only available on the Mac OS, so if you have a Windows desktop then you won’t be eligible to download this softphone.
